Tata Safari Storme
Safari has been an iconic moniker in the Indian automobile industry for decades now. In the current avatar, the Safari assumes the 7-seat version of the Harrier. However, prior to that, Safari had its own identity. In fact, that is the reason why Tata Motors decided to name the 7-seat variant of the Harrier, Safari. Back in the day, it used to come powered by a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine which produced a decent 154 hp and 400 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties were carried out by a 6-speed manual transmission. In the higher variants, there was a 4×4 configuration to ensure immense off-roading capabilities.

Tata Safari (last-gen models) has been a pivotal product in the Indian automobile market. It was an aspirational SUV for a whole lot of buyers back in the day. While the original model had to be discontinued as stricter emission and safety regulations came into existence, the existing Safari is carrying the mantle quite convincingly. Sure, the competition in the segment has grown significantly and there are many new players in this space, but the charm of the Safari nameplate still lives on.
