Yamaha has launched a special edition variant of the Ray scooter, its been named the Yamaha Ray Precious Edition. With the launch of the Precious Edition Yamaha hopes to attract more female customers to the scooter and has made relevant visual changes to it. Mechanicals of the bike remain unchanged, the performance, ride and handling will not be any different from the normal variant of the scooter. The Yamaha Ray Precious Edition is a limited edition offering from the company, and will be available till stocks last.
The scooter also commemorates Yamaha’s association with the 2013 Ponds Femina Miss India beauty pageant.

The Yamaha Ray Precious Edition is priced at Rs. 48,605, ex-showroom Delhi
The standard variant of the Yamaha Ray costs Rs. 47,105, ex-showroom Delhi

What’s New?
One word: Graphics.
You pay Rs. 1,500 for the black and white paint job (Yamaha calls it ‘Black n Beauty’) and stylised decals (with a lot of pink elements.). There is a ‘Precious Edition’ sticker above the headlamp cluster and ‘Ray Cygnus’ badging on the rear panel.
What else?
Well, the Ray is a smart looking scooter, with the large headlamp cluster on the front apron, dual tone body panels all around, stylosh tail-lamp unit and a nicely designed seat ending in a practical hip-support-cum-grab-rail. The Precious Edition retains all of that.

- Curved front panel which protects the riders legs from dirt
- Storage compartments at the front
- 15.5-litre under-seat storage space
- Movable rear fender
The Yamaha Ray Precious Edition is powered by a 113cc, single cylinder engine which has a power output of 7 BHP @ 7500 rpm and a torque output of 8.1 Nm @5000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. With an average mileage of 50 KMPL and a fuel tank capacity of 5-litres, the Ray has a range of 250 Kms.
