Yamaha R15 V3 will soon be getting a dual-channel ABS unit. As per reports, some units have already been dispatched to dealerships.
Yamaha India is still quiet about its upcoming product that is launching on 21st January. Amidst all speculations, we believe that Yamaha FZ V3.0 along with ABS updated models will be introduced on that day.
Yamaha R15 V3 and FZ25 are in very much need of ABS. Both of these motorcycles are performance oriented and very popular in the sub-1.5 Lakhs budget. However, absence of ABS is an important issue to deal with.
Motorbeam reports that ABS variants of Yamaha R15 V3 are ready. They also say that many dealerships have started receiving updated units of the bike.

The safety norms are due in April 2019 and for sure, all the models above 125cc from every brand will have ABS setup. So, we know that the launch is just around the corner.
Yamaha R15 V3 will most likely receive a dual-channel ABS unit instead of a single-one. A dual-ABS unit is always better than a single unit. In case of single-ABS units, the front wheel are prevent from locking up, but the rear-wheels still lock up.
With dual-channel ABS on hand, we expect the prices of Yamaha R15 V3 to increase by Rs 10,000 or so. Currently, it retails at Rs 1.25 Lakhs and additional Rs 5,000 for the Movistar edition.

Yamaha R15 V3 comes with a 155cc liquid-cooled VVA engine. The engine puts out 19 BHP and 14.8 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed slipper clutch.
VVA or ‘Variable Valve Actuation’ system is helpful in offering generous torque to the bike in the low-end and mid-ranges. It also helps in increasing the overall fuel-efficiency, which during our test touched 50 kmpl.
Meanwhile, we also believe that Yamaha MT-15, the naked street version of R15 might launch in India. As of now, there are only speculations going around.
Since Yamaha decided to shift its focus on premium motorcycles, we believe that the first one from their global stable might be the MT-15. It uses the same engine and mechanics that come on Yamaha R15 V3.
