Yamaha Nmax is speculated to be launched in India for a long time. We believe, in its current state of tune, it will be more powerful than Aprilia SR150.
Yamaha Nmax 150 is long due in the Indian market. It has been spotted earlier in India at a showroom in Chennai. After that, there have been no spottings of the scooter.
However, many reports say that Nmax will be launched in India this year. Since Yamaha has decided to shift its focus from mass-market commuter two-wheelers to premium two-wheelers, our speculations have gotten even stronger.
Currently, Yamaha Nmax is available in the South-East Asian markets. It uses the same 155cc engine that comes in R15 V3, but in a much less powerful tune. The power figure stands at 14.8 BHP and 14.4 Nm of peak torque.

If it comes with the same international-spec engine, it might actually be much more powerful than Aprilia SR150.
Piaggio currently has 2 150cc scooters, SR150 and Vespa 150. The power figures of Vespa are slightly low because it is comfort and styling oriented.
Aprilia SR150 is capable of delivering 10.4 BHP and 11.4 Nm of peak torque. If you see, there is a clear difference of 4 BHP and 3 Nm. Considering both the scooters as performance-aimed, then this figure matters.

However, another set of reports say that Yamaha Nmax will get the same 155cc engine but in a further lower state of tune. Probably, the figures might drop down by 1-2 BHP. In this case, the engine might be retuned for better fuel efficiency.
Yamaha NMax will be equipped with many premium features, that include a fully digital speedometer, ABS, front disc brakes, LED headlamps and LED tail lamps.
There are less chances of the scooter being equipped with a bluetooth integrated cluster. However, since it is a premium scooter, we cannot rule out the possibilities.

Expect Yamaha to price the NMax around 90,000 and upwards. It will compete with Aprilia SR150 and Vespa 150.
