The official teaser of the Yamaha MT-15 has been released ahead of the launch on 15th March. The teaser calls it ‘The Dark Warrior’.
Ahead of the launch next week, Yamaha India has released the official teaser of the MT-15. The bookings for the bike have commenced at many Yamaha India dealerships.
Our dealership sources have said that the booking numbers are considerably good. The token amounts can be paid between Rs 1000 to Rs 2000, depending upon the dealership.
Yamaha MT-15 was long awaited in India. Under the Call of Blue campaign, Yamaha will launch more premium motorcycles in India. MT-15 is the first one under the campaign.

As we all know, the India-spec MT-15 is different from the Thailand-spec. The Indian version misses out on USD Forks, Contoured fuel tank, colour options and the international-spec alloy wheels.
Yamaha MT-15 is based on the R15 V3 and thus uses the same engine, chassis and equipment. The feature list also remains the same, but the riding position of the two is totally different.
We expect the top speed, acceleration timing and the mileage to be identical to the R15 V3. The fully faired version has managed to achieve segment class performance and mileage figures.

Yamaha MT-15 sports a 155cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The motor delivers 19.1 BHP and 14.8 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets the VVA technology for better performance and mileage figures.
For suspension it uses telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the back. Braking power comes from front and rear disc brakes with standard dual-ABS unit.
Features onboard include LED headlamps, LED Tail lights, Fuel injection system, Rear set footpegs and a fully digital instrument console. Like the R15, MT-15 also misses out on pillion grab rails.

As per our price expectations, the Yamaha MT-15 will cost between Rs 1.2 Lakhs to Rs 1.3 Lakhs. The prices will be definitely lower than R15 V3, which goes for Rs 1.39 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices) .
