Engine specifications and dimensions of Yamaha MT-15 have been leaked online. The bike is expected to launch in India soon, probably in February.
Every day some or the other, news about Yamaha MT-15 just keeps coming in. Till now, we have an idea of its engine specs, dimensions and other cycle parts as well.
The latest government related document leaked online shows the engine specs and dimensions of the upcoming bike. All the news indicate that the launch is very near, mostly in February-March period.
Yamaha MT-15 will get the same 155.1cc engine that comes in R15 V3. The 155cc liqud-cooled SOHC engine produces 19.1 BHP at 10,000 RPM and 14.8 Nm of peak torque.

The engine will also be equipped with the Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. With this, the engine will deliver better low-end and mid-range torque with a balanced fuel average.
However, the engine will be BS-4. The emission norms are scheduled to kick in from April 2020, giving a good period for the Indian automakers to update their vehicles.
Yamaha MT-15 is 2020mm long, 800mm wide and 1070mm tall. It gets a wheelbase of 1335mm. The gross vehicle weight of the bike is 280 kgs. For reference, the Thai-spec bike is 1965mm long and 1065mm tall.

Based on the teaser leaked last week, Yamaha MT-15 gets telescopic forks instead of USD forks. The box-type swingarm comes as a replacement to the aluminium unit on the Thai-spec.
The features of the bike are almost the same as that of the Thai-spec. It gets a fully digital instrument cluster, LED headlights, slipper clutch and more features onboard.
The expected price of MT-15 is around Rs 1.3 Lakhs (ex-showroom). For sure, the prices will be near to that of R15 V3, which is priced at Rs 1.39 Lakhs.

MT-15 will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 125, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
