Yamaha India continues the growth story with their premium and deluxe segment bikes in Indian market by selling over 26,944 units in the domestic market in April 2012 which is about 4.4% higher compared to the sales of 25,817 units sold in April 2011. The growth in the exports has also been good with 9639 units in April 2012 compared to 8669 motorcycles in April 2011. The overall sales number for April 2012 stood at 36581 compared to 34467 in April 2011 which is an overall growth of about 6%.
Yamaha India’s popular motorcycles in India include premium bikes like Yamaha R15 Version 2.0 launched in August 2011. The new version of R15 is not strikingly different but does have some significant improvements and continues to deliver great handling and braking performance which is one of the key reasons for its popularity in India. Yamaha India has recently refreshed the 2012 Yamaha FZ-S Motorcycle with new styling and features to make it an even better value proposition.

Speaking on the sales performance of Yamaha India, Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor said,

We are confident that these variants too will be an instant hit among the biking enthusiasts”
