In a fresh report, Yamaha FZ V3 will get a more powerful engine with BS-6 compliance in 2020. Most likely the styling and features will remain the same.
Yamaha India just updated its best selling motorcycle, FZ, with a new generation update. FZ V3 now sports a revised styling, new features and single-channel ABS.
What we were all expecting was an increase in the power figures. Currently, it gets a 149cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine that puts out 13 BHP and 12.8 Nm of peak torque.
The power figures of Yamaha FZ V3 are the lowest in its segment. Now, Car And Bike reports that the new FZ will get a more powerful engine in 2020. Basically, the new BS-6 engine will be more powerful and peppy than ever.

Currently, Yamaha is under the process of developing a new engine for this bike. There are no further details of the engine, whether it will be a more powerful 149cc engine or the engine capacity will be increased altogether.
Could Yamaha India equip the BS-6 FZ V3 with R15 V3’s engine, in a detuned manner? The power figures and gearing ratios might get some revision, to fit in for a commuter motorcycle. These are completely based on our speculations.
Most of the automakers are busy with launching new BS-6 updated models. As of now, only Jawa Motorcycles have BS-6 engines in the two-wheeler segment.

Yamaha FZ V3 was launched last week, for a starting price of Rs 95,000 up to Rs 97,000 for FZ-S V3. It is now the costliest one in its 150-160cc sporty commuter segment.
The new generation gets some added styling bits like a revised fuel tank with shrouds, chrome bits on the side of the fuel tank and a new single seat. With this, it now looks more premium as well as sportier than earlier.
Feature additions onboard include new LED headlamps, a new fully digital instrument cluster and addition of a single-channel ABS unit.

Yamaha FZ V3 continues to compete with the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Honda CB Hornet 160R.
