Yamaha India came up with the FZ25 streetnaked earlier this year. Now, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese bike brand has decided to launch the full-fairing version of the FZ25. Dubbed as the Fazer 25, the upcoming motorcycle will becomes a worthy rival to other 200-250cc full-fairing motorcycles in this price range. It’s noteworthy here that even the RS200 is largely based on the Pulsar NS 200 streetnaked. It’s highly likely that the Fazer25 will be marketed as a sports-tourer. All thanks to the very aggressive pricing of the FZ25, even the Fazer 25 should have a very competitive price tag. We feel that the upcoming Yamaha motorcycle will become a direct rival to the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. Hence, on this page, we have decided to compare the Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200. So read on for Yamaha Fazer 25 vs Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 comparison.

Yamaha Fazer 25 vs Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Price Comparison
Model | Price (ex-showroom) |
Yamaha Fazer 250 | Rs 1.28 Lakh |
Bajaj Pulsar RS200 | Rs 1.21 – 1.33 Lakh |
*ex-showroom, Mumbai
Quite unsurprisingly, the Fazer 250 is costlier than the FZ25. The increase in price is due to the front fairing. The Fazer25 has an ex-showroom, Mumbai price of Rs 1.28 lakh. On the other hand, the Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 has been on sale in a price range of Rs 1.21 lakh to Rs 1.33 lakh. Bajaj has always made it a point to price its products ultra competitively and the RS 200 is no different in this aspect. It will be interesting to see if Yamaha can give the RS 200 a run for its money even after pricing the Fazer 25 considerably higher.

The Fazer 25 gets the same 249cc, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine that powers the FZ25. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The FZ25 is known to be a relaxed cruiser and the Fazer 250 will be no different. In sharp contrast, the Pulsar RS200, akin to almost all other Pulsars, has a rev-happy engine that gives power a priority over refinement. Compared to the 20.9 PS from Fazer25’s engine, this Pulsar’s engine, in spite of a lower displacement, outputs 24.4 PS. The peak torque is slightly lower but it comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. In terms of specifications alone, the RS200 seems to enjoy an edge over the Fazer250.

Yamaha Fazer 25 vs Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Design Comparison
The new 250cc full-fairing motorcycle from Yamaha is built on the same diamond-frame chassis that used for the FZ25. Basically, the Fazer25 is nothing but an FZ25 with an aggressive looking fairing. Thanks to the addition of a rather bulky fairing, the upcoming Yamaha motorcycle will be larger and feel like a much bigger bike. Of course, the addition of a fairing will increase the kerb weight. However, the bike will be still lighter than the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. Bits like dual projector headlamps, racy decals, a sharply styled tailpiece, etc give the Pulsar RS200 a slightly racier look. Both the bikes get a digital speedo. However, while the Yamaha model gets a fully digital speedo console, the RS200 gets a sportier looking unit with an analogue tachometer.
