Yamaha India launched the FZ25 streetnaked bike earlier in 2017. The new motorcycle has been doing pretty fantastically well on the sales charts and will be soon joined by a full fairing version. This upcoming Yamaha motorcycle in India is likely to be called the Fazer 25. The Yamaha Fazer 25 India launch date is likely to fall bang in the middle of the fast approaching festive season. The new Fazer 25 (Fazer 250) will be to the FZ25 what the Fazer 150cc is to the FZ16. The new Yamaha bike was recently spied totally undisguised. The manufacturer will now launch the new bike on August 21. You can read on for full details on the Yamaha Fazer 25 India Launch date, Price, Specifications, and Mileage. The spy images that we have here go on to reveal Fazer 25 in complete details. It looks like the new motorcycle will offer ergonomics befitting of a sportstourer bike. The handlebar position, the footpeg mounts, the seat – everything hints at a fairly relaxed riding posture. Also, thanks to the new fairing and a high set windshield, riders hould be able to easily tackle wind blasts. Dimensionally, the bike will be bigger than the already brawny Fazer 150cc model. Apart from the new full fairing and new dual tone color option, the Fazer 25 looks same as the FZ25. Bikts like the side panels, the fuel-tank, the end-can, all of it has been taken from the FZ25. While there is a new fairing, the headlamp comes from the FZ25. The new fairing simply wraps itself around the existing headlamp. Definitely a cost effective move, this one.

The new Yamaha Fazer 25 gets the same engine that powers its streetnaked sibling. Hence, powering the motorcycle will be a 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that comes mated to a five-speed Manual Transmission. Exact specifications aren’t clear at the moment but Yamaha just might have tweaked the engine to suit the ‘sportstourer’ format. For the FZ25, this motor offers a maximum power of 20.6 BHP at 8,000 RPM and a peak torque of 20 Nm at 6,000 RPM. Much like the FZ25, even the new Fazer 25 is built around a diamond frame chassis. The new bike gets the same brakes that do duty on the streetnaked version. It’s not sure if Yamaha India would offer ABS even as an option. The test mule that has been caught testing doesn’t seem to have ABS. Even the suspension comes from the FZ25, which means you get telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear. Thanks to the addition of a new fairing, and the metal sub-frame for mounting purposes, the the new model is likely to weigh slightly more than the FZ25’s 148 KGs.
Yamaha Fazer 25 Price in India
Minimum | Rs 1.25 lakh |
Maximum | Rs 1.32 lakh |
Yamaha surprised everyone with a really competitive price of the FZ25. The streetnaked motorcycle has a sticker price of just Rs 1.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Going by this, even the Fazer 25 shouldn’t be much more expensive. We think the prices won’t go up by more than Rs 13,000. Hence, the Fazer 25 should cost no more than Rs 1.32 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, the Fazer25 will become a direct rival of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200. We are pretty excited about the upcoming launch of this Yamaha. With the Honda CBR 250R not around anymore, a new comfortable entry-level sportstourer is just what the doctor ordered.

The Fazer 250cc version will have the same 249cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled fuel-injected engine that powers the FZ25. There are chances that Yamaha will re-tune the motorcycle a bit. However, we are not hoping for any significant changes in the specifications. Currently, this engine produces a max. power of 20.9 PS @ 8000 RPM and a peak torque of 20 Nm @ 6000 RPM for the FZ25. The single-cylinder motor comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

For the Fazer25, most of the hardware comes from the FZ25. The Fazer 25 gets the same telescopic shock absorbers at front and a monoshock setup for the rear. Even the tyres and wheels are the same. However, Yamaha might end up offering ABS on the Fazer25. ABS could be offered only as an option as the bike you see in the spy images here doesn’t seem to have ABS.
Yamaha Fazer 25 Mileage
City | 33 KMPL |
Highway | 38 KMPL |
The average mileage figures of the Fazer25 will be officially made available only at the time of the launch. However, as the specs remain much the same as those of the FZ25, we think even the mileage figures will be the same. While the addition of a full fairing will increase the weight by a small margin, we’re still expecting a peak mileage figure of 38 KMPL.
Yamaha Fazer 25 Top Speed
Top Speed (expected) | 150 KMPH* |
Thanks to a sufficiently grunty 249cc engine, the Fazer 25 should have a claimed top speed of around 150 KMPH. However, we don’t expect the top speed to be anything more than 140 KMPH in rear world.
Yamaha Fazer 25 0-100 KMPH
0-100 KMPH | 9-10 Seconds |
Clocking a sub 10 second 0-100 KMPH time should not be an issue for the upcoming Yamaha Fazer 25 (Fazer 250 cc) motorcycle.
Yamaha Fazer 25 Design Review
Following in the footsteps of the FZ and Fazer siblings, the new Yamaha Fazer 25 India spec model will be identical to FZ 25 till the front-end. It gets the same panels and the same stubby exhaust. Even the alloy wheels look the same. But the Fazer 25 will be a semi-faired bike and hence will have a front fairing that leaves the engine area exposed. This has been done to ensure proper cooling for the air-cooled engine. Many full fairing bikes have completely covered engines as they sport liquid-cooled units. With the Fazer25 borrowing its air-cooled engine from the FZ25, the fairing needs to leave the engine exposed to ensure proper ventilation. The Fazer25 should be good for touring purposes, as hinted by windscreen and tall set handlebars. A fully digital instrument console identical to the FZ25’s will display all relevant info.
