This year the New York Auto Show 2010 as always,has attracted masses from around the world and all the credit goes to the line-up of cars belonging to every segment that is being showcased at the expo. Glamour,Power and Beauty are the three things seen in the auto show through the products presented by various global majors and what more could a brand expect if its car gets awarded by a prestigious title.
Two cars at the NYAS have bagged titles – one for the 2010 World Performance Car and the other World car of the year. As predictable from the title of our post Audi R8 has been awarded 2010 World Performance Car while the World Car of the Year award goes to Volkswagen Polo and all this was done by a jury comprising of 59 Automotive journalists. The R8 had also won the same award in 2008 with a V8 engine.
This is what the Jury has said to Audi, “This is the fifth year of the World Performance Car award and the R8 has won it twice. Whether you choose an R8 with a V8 or with a V10 engine, you get a World Performance Car award winner. The records also show that an Audi has won this award three times. The truly global nature of the World Car jury is evidence that Audi is hitting the performance car sweet spot of car lovers around the world.” and to which Johan De Nysschen, Executive Vice President of Audi of America replied,”We’re honored that the Audi R8 V10 was chosen by this distinguished group of jurors as the 2010 World Performance Car,”
