It is not every day you come across a Bollywood celebrity who is into extensive car modifications.
Actor Imran Khan reveals why he prefers his customized VW Polo GT over the red Ferrari. We know that top actors often purchase ostentatious automobiles. They love to flaunt them in public. It is, sort of, a trend among influential personalities to show off their wealth via the medium of their cars. However, it looks like Imran Khan is an exception. He used to own a Ferrari but ended up selling it as he was not getting to drive it all that often due to our road conditions. Then, he opted to customize his Volkswagen Polo GT.
Imran Khan Sold His Ferrari and Bought VW Polo GT
This post stems from chillseshclips on Instagram. It captures a trimmed section of a long interview. It is a discussion of the famous Indian stand-up comedians with Imran Khan. At one point during their conversation, they end up talking about vehicles. That is when Imran mentions that he used to own a red Ferrari a few years ago. However, due to the infamous road conditions in most parts of our country and the abnormally low ground clearance of a Ferrari, it was difficult to drive it consistently. Hence, he purchased a VW Polo GT and did tons of modifications to it.
What impresses me the most is just how knowledgeable Imran is about automobiles. He went online and joined famous forums to get the know-how and a taste of the kinds of trends prevalent in the market. As a result, he has a modified suspension setup, wheels, tyres, custom air intake, new exhaust system, stage 2 engine tune, ECU tune, third-party paddle shifters, and tons of other internal components. In essence, the entire vehicle is completely different from a regular Polo. That is a testament to the passion Imran Khan harbours for automobiles.
Our View
I love the fact that such a famous personality is so enthusiastic about vehicles and modifications. It is great for automobile aficionados to have someone who understands and shares the same passion for automobile technology. I would love to get my hands on this immensely kitted Volkswagen Polo GT that Imran has created. In any case, it would be great to witness more such celebrities who are crazy about cars and to see what they do to satiate their passion.
