Mahindra has unveiled the XUV300 Sportz at the Auto Expo which now makes it the most powerful sub-compact SUV. So, what has changed with it?
Besides having an electric affair this year, Mahindra showcased a very exciting ICE-powered product. Mahindra revealed the XUV300 Sportz at the Auto Expo 2020, which has got all the eyes in case of driving enthusiast buyers.
Mahindra XUV300 Sportz technically gets a new 1.2 Litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol GDI engine. The existing motor is an MPFI unit, with the former producing more power. Both the engines will co-exist with each other once the Sportz is introduced.
The new GDI engine produces 128 BHP and 230 Nm of peak torque, around 20 BHP and 30 Nm of torque. The motor will come paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox and probably an AMT gearbox. There is no information about the latter.

To differentiate it from the regular variants, there are some cosmetic tweaks as well. On the outside, there are red inserts and customized graphics on the side panel and the bonnet. The alloy wheels are the same but it might get different colour options.
Inside the cabin, there are candy red accents on the steering wheels, centre console and dashboard. Mostly, the production version will get all-black interiors with the same colour for the seat upholstery as well.
The regular XUV300 gets a 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol motor, which produces 108 BHP and 200 Nm. The 1.5 Litre diesel engine churns out 115 BHP and 300 Nm of peak torque. Gearbox options include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AMT. The diesel XUV300 is also the most powerful in its segment.

Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be based on the top-end variants carrying the same features. As of now, the range-topping variants of XUV300 go up to Rs 11.85 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The Sportz variant will further demand atleast Rs 40,000 – 50,000 more.
