The launch of Kia Sonet is scheduled to happen in under a month from now. Ahead of that, its brochure details have been leaked online. People who have booked the car are now receiving the brochure and can also check out the car in personal. However, the test drives will happen after some weeks.
With the brochure now leaked, we have the details of variant-wise features of Sonet. The HTX variant misses out on six airbags, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, auto folding ORVMs and Ventilated Front seats. These are the mains features that come on the GTX+ trim but not here. While they look very handy, the HTX variant offers more than enough premium features.
It will come with the option of either a 1.0 Litre turbo petrol with 6-speed iMT as standard or a 1.5 Litre diesel with 6-speed MT as standard. There’s no DCT for the turbo petrol or AT for diesel offered with this trim. This might be one of the biggest disadvantage because for those who want an automatic gearbox will either have to step down for HTK+ or go up to HTX+.
The turbo engine produces 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak torque, making it one of the most powerful SUVs in the class. Diesel engine is a 1.5 Litre unit, producing 100 PS and 240 Nm of peak torque. If you go with the Diesel-AT combo, the engine will offer 115 PS and 250 Nm on tap.
