India is home to some of the most questionable activities on the road just like this recent incident
In the latest video clip, two people are seen sitting on the top of a moving Tata Nexon from the sunroof. Now, I have reported numerous instances of people performing such mindless activities in public. This is wrong on multiple counts. I will get to that in a bit. In recent times, people have been doing such stunts for social media engagement. During such cases, they often create safety hazards for themselves, as well as for others around them. For now, let us delve into the specifics of this case here.
Two Men Sit on Sunroof of Moving Tata Nexon
This video stems from dailypost_haryana_himachal on Instagram. The visuals capture a rather strange turn of events. As per the information in the video, this incident occurred on the Sonipat-Murthal highway. Two persons have come out of the sunroof of a moving Tata Nexon and are sitting on the roof while the vehicle is still in motion. Now, this is a proper highway which means that the vehicle must be travelling at high speed. Still, the two are unfazed by all that and are not bothered by anything at all. This is mighty perilous.
As mentioned previously, this is inappropriate on many levels. First of all, hanging out of the sunroof of a moving car is prohibited as per the traffic laws. Secondly, they can easily block the vision of the driver moving behind them which can cause an accident. Finally, if the driver of the Nexon had to apply sudden brakes for any reason, the two people would definitely fall out of the car and could even end up landing in front of the vehicle. All these factors make it immensely dangerous and illegal.
My View
We lose lakhs of lives each year in road accidents. Most of these crashes take place due to human error and people refusing to abide by the traffic regulations. It is high time we start respecting and following rules to ensure road safety. Let us pledge to be responsible drivers and encourage everyone around us to do the same. Also, if you find anyone flouting the rules or getting involved in stunts which can potentially harm others, you should report them to the authorities so that appropriate action can be taken against them.
