Toyota FJ Cruiser is one of the most iconic models in the history of the Japanese carmaker as the final 1,000 production units are being delivered now.
This video is a great tribute to the Toyota FJ Cruiser SUV. FJ Cruiser was incepted back in 2006 and featured a retro theme with great off-roading capabilities. It soon became quite popular among the masses. The reasons for its mad success were simple – affordable off-roading SUV with the reliability of Toyota. However, tough competition from various other carmakers in various international markets in subsequent years meant that the SUV witnessed consistently declining sales. Finally, Toyota announced that it will pull the plug on the SUV in December 2022. Currently, the final 1,000 units are being delivered in the Middle East.

Tribute to Toyota FJ Cruiser
This video has been uploaded by arafu_arafu on Instagram. The neat video clip showcases all the existing Toyota models parked in the middle of a desert road. Since the last production version was manufactured in the Middle East, this setting makes complete sense. All these cars from Toyota are parked and the FJ Cruiser is shown coming from the opposite direction on the road. As it approaches the cars, they slowly move backwards opening up the path for the FJ Cruiser to follow.

It is a typical ‘Guard of Honour’ that is quite popular in various sports when a sportsman is retiring and playing in his/her last match. The FJ Cruiser slowly passes between the cars as they are shown with blinking headlamps to acknowledge the presence and success the FJ Cruiser has been able to achieve all these years. Finally, it passes the sea of vehicles and the visuals showcase it having fun in the desert. The iconic song ‘See You Again’ in the background is a perfect and emotional tribute to the SUV.

Specs
Since it has been around for over one and a half decades, there were multiple powertrains powering this SUV. However, the most popular engine has to be the 4.0-litre 1GR-FE DOHC V6 engine with VVT-i technology that generates 239 hp and 377 Nm of peak power and torque. In the subsequent versions, there were slight changes to these figures. Also, it had a 4×4 drivetrain propelling the SUV over rough terrains with ease. Overall, a well-engineered SUV runs its course to give way to new and exciting products from Toyota.
