In this video, a drag race is conducted between the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z, Dominar 400 and TVS Apache RTR 310. All of these are capable motorcycles which belong to somewhat the same segment. Note that the RTR 310 has the smallest engine in this race. Still, its performance is almost similar. This is the first time a 400cc bike from Bajaj is wearing the Pulsar nameplate. Until now, only the Dominar was available in this category. Let us find out how these bikes perform in a drag race.
Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z vs Dominar 400 vs TVS RTR 310 – Drag Race
This video comes from Solo Traveler on YouTube. The visuals showcase three riders ready to put the three motorcycles to the test. The host takes the RTR 310 in the first round. On the count of three, the bikers accelerate hard. Since the rider of the Dominar is light, he takes the lead in the beginning, closely followed by NS400 Z. The RTR 310 was trailing in the last spot. As the race progressed, the NS400Z maintained a solid lead and stayed ahead for the entire race. For the second round, they swapped the riders to account for the driving mannerisms of various people. However, the result remained the same. The NS400Z emerged victorious in this race, followed by its brethren, the Dominar 400 and the last spot was occupied by the RTR 310. Still, the competition was close.
Specs Comparison
Note that both 400cc bikes from Bajaj share the powertrain. They get a 373-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine which produces a healthy 40 PS @8,000 RPM and 35 Nm @6,500 RPM of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a 6-speed manual gearbox with assist and slipper clutch. The NS400Z has a ride-by-wire electronic throttle and four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport, and Off-Road). On the other hand, the TVS Apache RTR 310 draws power from a 312.12-cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which delivers 35.6 PS of power @9,700 RPM and 28.7 Nm of torque @6,650 RPM. Even it gets a 6-speed transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch. Hence, the Bajaj cousins are stronger on paper and in real life.

Our View
Comparing the performance of motorcycles via drag races is becoming rather common these days. In fact, I have reported countless instances of YouTubers uploading videos of the acceleration of various bikes to see which one is the fastest. While these YouTubers often take safety precautions behind the scenes, most viewers don’t realise it. Hence, I would like to advise our readers to never get involved in such activities yourself. Things could turn ugly pretty quickly. Let us pledge to be responsible road users and never try this.
