Lamborghini Urus or Toyota Fortuner?
Looking at these images, one has to applaud the effort they have put in. Also, the natural design of the current-gen Legender variant of the Fortuner does lend itself well to be able to get converted into the Urus. The sleek LED headlamps with LED DRLs designed in a unique way offer great front fascia, to begin with. The chunky grille has overshadowed the regular grille of the Fortuner and the angular and sculpted elements look very sporty indeed. The large blacked out radiator grille at the bottom does make it resemble the great SUV. These are cut in aggressive angles on either side. There has been a cut out in the middle of the headlamps which reminds us of the Lamborghini logo. Lower down, this Fortuner also sports a splitter to prevent the body from little pebbles on the road. However, one area where a Fortuner could never become anything close to a Urus is under the hood. It comes with a 2.7-litre petrol engine which makes 166 hp and 245 Nm. It comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic. The more popular diesel engine is a 2.8-litre unit that produces 204 hp and 420 Nm (in manual) and a colossal 500 Nm (in automatic). The 4×4 drive system is also available with the diesel variant only. The prices of the Toyota Fortuner range between Rs 30.73 lakh and Rs 42.33 lakh, ex-showroom taking the on-road price over Rs 50 lakh in some cities. After the discontinuation of the Ford Endeavour, there is no worthy competitor to the Fortuner apart from the likes of MG Gloster and Isuzu MU-X.
