Modern sedans often come with high ground clearance making them quite practical which is crucial in this age where they have to compete against SUVs.
A YouTuber has taken his VW Virtus to Zojila Pass, highlighting the practicality of the premium mid-size sedan. Virtus has been doing quite well in our market as people who love driving opt for it. The competition in the segment is heating up, especially after Hyundai launched the new model of Verna, a prominent name in the mid-size sedan category. Since SUVs have taken over the market, carmakers are making some practical modifications to their sedans to make them compete against SUVs. As a result, the one thing that we have noticed with new-age sedans is their high ground clearance. That enhances the practicality of the sedans.

After they commence their journey, there is a massive traffic jam due to the slides and thick snow. There is black ice on the roads making driving quite challenging. This is especially true for the vlogger since this is his first time driving in such harsh conditions. He shows that it is cold in the area and it even starts to snow mid-way. As a result, the surface has become slippery. He confesses that he has not driven so much on icy roads, which makes him a bit nervous. But since he is traveling with a convoy, things are going pretty smoothly.

High Ground Clearance
He showcases the conditions of the road. There are large potholes and muddy water, which can be a problem for the vehicle causing it to lose traction. As a result, slippage is common. Also, if the car has not enough ground clearance, the underbelly of the car is bound to hit the ground. But VW Virtus has a decent ground clearance of 179 mm which is great for a sedan. As a result, it never scraps its belly in this video which is encouraging. This is a practical capability of modern sedans, which makes them great rivals to the SUVs as their inherent stability around the corners is better than SUVs.
