This is a drag race between a VW Virtus and Tata Nexon. We understand that these two cars belong to completely different segments. While the Virtus is a premium mid-size sedan, the Nexon is a compact SUV. However, both these vehicles have turbo petrol engines. That makes things quite interesting indeed. We live in an age where diesel powertrains a dying, failing to meet the stringent emission norms. To replace them, car makers are introducing turbo petrol engines. They have low-end torque mimicking the diesel mills. Let us take a look at the details of this latest drag race.

VW Virtus vs Tata Nexon Drag Race
This video comes from Charlie Vlogs on YouTube. The YouTuber plans a drag race between a Tata Nexon and a VW Virtus 1.0. In the first round, both cars have their AC on and are in the eco-mode. On the count of three, the Virtus powers ahead. Unsurprisingly, it stays ahead throughout the course of the drag race. For the second round, the Virtus stays in the same settings but the Nexon changes to sports mode and has the AC off. Essentially, it unleashes the maximum potential of the SUV. But the result remains the same. A similar fate befalls the two cars in the third and the final round. In the end, the Volkswagen Virtus was declared the undisputed winner.

What We Think
We acknowledge that YouTubers frequently employ drag races as a means to compare vehicle performance. However, it is crucial to recognize that such races can lead to lasting effects on the cars, as they are not normally subjected to intense acceleration in a straight line during regular usage. Engaging in drag races with personal vehicles is not recommended due to safety and mechanical concerns. We strongly advise our readers against attempting such stunts and remind them that drag races do not accurately reflect real-world driving situations.
