Volkswagen has launched its sedan Volkswagen Passat in India in March 2011 with BlueMotion Technology. The new model of Volkswagen Jetta is also due for its launch in August 2011 in India with BlueMotion tech and other uplifts on the cosmetic and performance side too. With these two major launches in India, Volkswagen is going to strengthen its hold on the premium cars segment in India. To further improve its position, Volkswagen has already started its efforts to launch the 2011 Volkswagen Touareg in India before the festival season.
Overdrive has reported a Touareg being tested in Pune with the Right Hand Drive SUV which means that the car is almost ready and the road testing is going on before minor changes can be made before the official launch. As per our expectation, the Touareg 2011 will be launched around September or October 2011 in India as it festival season and many major launches by many car companies are lined up for the festival season in India.
Some of the highlights of the Touareg 2011 will be Bluemotion Technology, 8 Speed Automatic Transmission, powerful V6 Engine, longer wheelbase and length competed to the old generation Touareg. Apart from this it will be loaded with safety features like ABS, Traction control, Airbags, re-enforced frame etc. along with a lot of comfort features and gadgetry.
