VW Tayron (Tiguan-Replacement) Spied
On the exterior, the Tayron features the modern design language which we see in the latest electric cars from VW including the ID.4. As usual, the German carmaker follows the philosophy of understated sophistication. The LED headlamps are sleek and connected by a dark chrome strip which runs the width of the front fascia. The upper grille section is quite slim. But there is a rather large radiator grille at the bottom, flanked by what look like aero intakes or the place to position the fog lamps. Even the alloy wheels are inspired by the latest EV pattern. All in all, it is the longer wheelbase version of the new-gen Tiguan which liberates tons of added space on the inside.

Interior and Features
The interior of the new Tayron is quite modern, yet subtle. VW is playing to its strengths by offering high-quality materials with a sober layout. There are three screens in total – one for the driver’s instrument cluster, one for the infotainment display and one for the passenger side display. Apart from that, the materials used on the dashboard, centre console, door panels and upholstery are top-notch. That is expected from a car in this segment. It gets the latest MIB4 digital interface from VW, connectivity functions, wireless charging, three-spoke steering wheel, soft-touch materials, 7-seat layout, and much more.

Specs
Internationally, the model comes with either a 2.0-litre turbo diesel or a 2.0-litre turbo petrol mill. However, we expect it to come to India with the sole 2.0-litre turbo petrol mill which puts out a decent 190 hp and 320 Nm of peak power and torque. The transmission duties are carried out by a smooth 7-speed DSG gearbox which sends power to all four wheels. Still, we shall have to wait a bit longer to know the exact details. At present, the Tiguan in India costs Rs 35.17 lakh, ex-showroom. The Tayron will command a premium over these prices.
