VW Tiguan R-Line: A Sportier Version of VW’s Premium SUV
The Tiguan R-Line is a more dynamic version of Volkswagen’s well-known premium SUV. It offers an R-Line styling package, improved aerodynamics, and sportier driving characteristics. Expected to be powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine, it will have a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.

With the Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI set for launch in early Q2 2025, Volkswagen India looks ready to have another go at the premium end of the market. In fact, if the Polo-based VW GTI has already proven its mettle among the performance-enthusiasts. In all likelihood, the Golf GTI would have a high appeal among a similar section of Indian car buyers. Meanwhile, the Tiguan R-Line will likely benefit from the upmarket image of the last-get model, whilst attracting buyers with its more modern and decidedly sportier package.
