Recently, a 1991 Volvo clocked 10 lakh miles (16 Lakh KMs). A Volvo owner has been driving his 740 GLE sedan for almost 30 years. To mark this occasion, the company gifted him a new Volvo S60.

Jim claims that the Volvo 740 GLE is very easy to maintain. Since the car is designed for the common man, he managed to do small repairs like replacing bulbs by himself. However, Jim had to get the engine repaired at 5 lakh miles. Even the transmission was replaced as well. Currently, the 1991 model car is definitely showing its age. You can see the paint has started to fade in places. There is also rust on some of the panels. However, Jim claims that the car can still touch a top speed of 120 kmph on the speedometer.

Owner Was Always Confident of His Car
Jim was very confident that he would be able to complete the challenge he took. When he purchased the car from the Volvo dealership in 1991, he met a person who had completed a million miles in his Volvo. This assured Jim of Volvo’s reliability. When Jim returned to the same dealership after almost 30 years, Volvo Cars USA honored him for his achievement with a 2022 model Volvo S60 sedan. The dealership also gifted him Volvo all-inclusive car subscription for 2 years. Under this subscription plan, he will get free maintenance, insurance, tires, wheels, and excessive wear protection. Now, Jim plans to drive the new S60 sedan for 16 lakh KMs.
