In this stretch of the highway, a Mahindra Scorpio is seen driving ahead of the Volvo. For a long distance, it remains ahead and the Volvo is following it relentlessly. Without compromising on the safety, the driver is able to overtake the SUV after some time. The mountain roads are such that one can’t drive too fast which results in almost all vehicles travelling at comparable speeds. That is why a bus could easily overtake a car. Moreover, this is a state transport bus which means that they are on a time schedule and drive at a constant speed to reach the destination.

The permitted Gross Vehicle Weigth (GVW) is 19,500 kg for the 2-axle variant. It comes with an air suspension. Other safety features include Volvo Electronic Braking System (EBS) with integrated Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Brake Blending, Hill Start Aid, Brake Assist. Volvo Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and built-in hydraulic retarder are available as standard.
