Volkswagen has announced that it will showcase the AO sub-compact SUV at the 2020 Auto Expo, which will be launched later this year.
Volkswagen has announced its plans for India this year, as it is readying up for four new SUVs this year. At the 2020 Auto Expo, Volkswagen will showcase the T-Cross, T-Roc, Tiguan AllSpace and their first AO sub-compact SUV.
The Volkswagen sub-compact SUV will see a world premiere at the Auto Expo. It has been spied testing in India a couple of times, already. The newest entrant in the trending sub-compact SUV space will go against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Honda WR-V.
Counting Volkswagen’s decision to discontinue diesel engines, the sub-compact SUV will be an all-petrol model. Most likely, it will use the company’s upcoming 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine as a single-engine option.

To make things interesting, VW could offer its renowned DSG gearbox as an option. A 5-speed manual gearbox will also be available. The turbo-petrol motor will produce around 110-120 BHP. It could detune the same engine for lower variants of the SUV.
Expect it to come with features such as touchscreen infotainment with VW Connect, rain-sensing wipers, auto LED headlamps, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, flat-bottom steering wheel, rear parking camera and probably, a sunroof as well.
Along with this, VW will also showcase the T-Cross and T-Roc SUVs. The T-Cross will go against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and Renault Captur. The T-Roc will be positioned above that, rivalling Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV500.

For the 2020 Auto Expo, Volkswagen is also showcasing its electric vehicle, which might be a sedan. The electric vehicle will be based on state-of-the-art MEB platform and most likely, be a sedan only.
