Apart from the T-Cross, Tarek and B-SUV, Volkswagen is also going to introduce a Honda WR-V. The crossover could be the next-generation Cross Polo or an all-new product. It will use the automaker’s MQB A0 platform.
The next-generation Polo is already on sale in the European markets. Furthermore, we are expecting to see the India spec version to launch by this year-end or early 2019. Volkswagen is yet to unveil the next-generation Cross Polo. Recently, the company officials made a statement saying that they are not going to introduce any vehicle in the compact SUV space. This sort of confirms that the Honda WR-V rival is not going to be an all-new product. And possibly the next iteration of the Polo-based crossover.
The India spec version of the Polo is going to be considerably different from the Euro-spec version. Consequently, we expect a similar difference in the case of the crossover Polo as well. As mentioned before, it will use Volkswagen’s MQB A0 platform. This low-cost platform will help the car to stay under 4 meters in length.

Furthermore, being a crossover it is bound to get a rugged exterior profile. It will come with black plastic cladding, faux skid plates and possibly a slightly raised suspension. In addition to this, the crossover will also get new alloy wheels and a slightly different cabin scheme. The engine specifications are likely to remain the same as the standard Polo. Currently, Volkswagen is calling its WR-V challenger the Nuvo Crossover. Upon launch, it might be re-named as the Polo All-Track.

This vehicle will go directly against the likes of Hyundai Creta. As a result, it is likely to retail in-between the price point of INR 9 lakh to INR 14 lakh. The Volkswagen T-Cross is likely to make its debut in our country sometime during next year.
In the segment above the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen will introduce another SUV, named the Tarek. This product will go against the likes of Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500. Hence, prices will fall in the range of INR 15 Lakh to 20 Lakh. In the international markets, the automaker will introduce another SUV, codenamed the B-SUV. This will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner. Prices are likely to fall in the range of INR 30 lakh to 35 Lakh. In India, the automaker already has the Tiguan in that price point.
