The Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace is expected to be priced around Rs. 45 lakhs (on-road) in India and it might also replace the standard Tiguan in India.
Volkswagen will be launching the Tiguan AllSpace in India in early 2020. The Tiguan AllSpace is a 7-seater version of the standard Tiguan sold in India. It comes with a longer wheelbase to accommodate an extra row of seats. The Tiguan AllSpace will come with a BS-6 compliant petrol engine and is likely to be priced around Rs. 45 lakhs (on-road) in India. There are also talks that the 7-seater version could replace the standard Tiguan in the country.
Volkswagen has already started testing the Tiguan AllSpace in India. In terms of the styling, the AllSpace looks pretty much similar to the standard Tiguan. The face gets looks identical with a slatted chrome grille and revised LED headlamps. It is when you view it in profile, that the Allspace’s longer length and the longer rear overhang becomes evident. The test mule was also seen wearing larger profile tyres around dual-tone alloy wheels. At the rear, it comes with split-LED tail lamps and dual exhaust outlets.
In terms of dimensions, the Tiguan AllSpace measures 4701mm in length, 1839mm in width, 1674mm in height and has a 2787mm long wheelbase. While the length and wheelbase has obviously gone up, the car remains the same in width but its height has also up by 2mm. With the third row of seats in position, the boot space is reduced to 230 liters as opposed to 615 liters in the standard Tiguan. However, fold the seats down and you have a massive 700 liters of boot space.
Inside the cabin, the dashboard layout is exactly similar to the standard Tiguan. However, Volkswagen might offer a different color scheme with the AllSpace. It’s also expected to come with premium features like connected car technology, a bigger infotainment system, and digital dials. Features like the panoramic sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, cruise control, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats as well as drive modes could be retained.

The Tiguan AllSpace will most likely be offered with only a BS-6 petrol engine in India. We expect it to be powered by a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine that develops 190bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. The engine will most likely be offered with a 7-speed DSG along with VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive tech. There won’t be a Tiguan Allspace TDI on offer as Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd is planning to discontinue diesel engines in the BS6 era.
