Volkswagen is going to launch the T-Roc in India on 18th March. The mid-size SUV will go against Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass.
Volkswagen is starting its SUV launches in India with the Tiguan All Space and T-Roc. The latter will be launched in India on 18th March, after being unveiled at the Auto Expo. It will enter the Indian market by the CBU route, thus keeping the prices a bit higher.
Volkswagen T-Roc, in India, will only get a petrol engine. It will come with a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder TSI engine, that produces 148 BHP and 240 Nm of peak torque. T-Roc will be a petrol-automatic SUV only, paired with the 7-speed DSG.
The SUV is actually smaller than its competitors but equal or probably better in terms of premium feel and quality. Volkswagen has placed it as an urban compact SUV but will price it towards Rs 20 Lakhs to Rs 22 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

Features onboard the Volkswagen T-Roc will include leather seats, LED headlamps with DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels, a large touchscreen infotainment unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a fully digital instrument cluster and a panoramic sunroof.
Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, hill hold assist, park distance control and auto-dimming IRVMs. It is built on the highly-versatile MQB platform, which is safer and lighter too.
Prior to that, Volkswagen will launch the Tiguan All Space, the 7-seater version of Tiguan. It will be priced in the range of 35-40 Lakhs, going against Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. The All Space will be launched in India on 6th March.

By next year, Volkswagen is also going to bring in the Taigun SUV. It is a compact SUV that goes against the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the 10-15 Lakhs range. Taigun will get VW’s new 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol motor.
