The Volkswagen T-Cross comes with several high-tech safety features like active Front Assist for pedestrian and cyclist protection and even radar based Adaptive Cruise Control.
The Volkswagen T-Cross, which is expected to launch in India by early 2020, has scored 5 stars in the Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Programme) safety tests. Volkswagen claims that the T-Cross SUV features numerous driver assistance systems as standard that were only available on vehicles from a much higher segment till now.
Some numbers first – the Volkswagen T-Cross scores 97% in adult protection, 86% in child occupancy safety and the active support systems scored a rating 80%. The T-Cross even features active Front Assist which watches out for pedestrian’s and cyclist’s safety besides having several passive protection systems.
The comment on the adult occupancy protection reads, “The passenger compartment of the T-Cross remained stable in the frontal offset test. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. VW showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sitting in different positions. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection of the driver dummy was good for all critical body areas and was at least adequate for the rear passenger. In both the side barrier and the more severe side pole impacts, protection of all critical body regions was good and the T-Cross scored maximum points in both tests.”
