Small Car market in India is a large in India and with a beautiful and lucrative car like Volkswagen Polo, by world renowned car maker Volkswagen, customers are delighted with the choices in the small car segment. VW Polo recently won World Car Of the Year 2010 at the New York Auto Show 2010. The Price and Variants of Volkswagen Polo are attractive enough to drift customers towards it. Soon after its launch in India, the sales and bookings on Volkswagen Polo (total of about 7300 cars) are much higher compared to the current production levels (about 1600 cars) of Polo in India. This huge production backlog of about 5700 cars has led to a waiting period of up to 4 months for the customers to get their Volkswagen Polo.
VW Official Mr. Garg mentioned that Volkswagen is trying to scale up the production to meet the demands of the Polo, currently about 900 cars are being produced each month at the Pune Chakan Plant of Volkswagen. The backlog seems huge in front of the current demand, lets hope Volkswagen is able to meet this demand and earn good sales number and good brand name on Indian Roads.
