Volkswagen has hiked the price of Polo, Vento and Tiguan AllSpace in India by marginal amounts. However, the automatic variant of the Vento is a whole Rs 31,000 more affordable than before. The price hike varies depending on the variants you choose for each model.
Volkswagen have hiked the price of the BS6 Polo, Vento and Tiguan AllSpace in India. The exact reason for this price hike is however not known. As for the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace, its prices were introductory until now. Its only the price of the T-Roc that has remained unchanged at Rs 19.99 lakh. Volkswagen had launched the BS6 Polo TSI, Vento TSI, the Tiguan AllSpace as well as the T-Roc back in March, 2020. Here’s how the prices have been revised.
Volkswagen Polo
Polo 1.0 MPI | Old Prices | New Prices | Difference |
Trendline | Rs 5.83 lakh | Rs 5.88 lakh | Rs 5,000 |
Comfortline | Rs 6.77 lakh | Rs 6.82 lakh | Rs 5,000 |
Polo 1.0 TSI | |||
Highline Plus MT | Rs 8.02 lakh | Rs 8.09 lakh | Rs 7,000 |
GT | Rs 9.60 lakh | Rs 9.67 lakh | Rs 7,000 |
As you can see, both variants of the Polo MPI are dearer by Rs 5,000 while the TSI variants are now pricier by Rs 7,000. The BS6 Polo gets two petrol engine options – a 76hp 1.0-litre MPI engine and the 110hp 1.0L TSI engine. While the former only comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the latter can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox. Volkswagen is also offering several benefits of up to Rs 29,000 on all variants of the Polo except for the top-spec GT trim for this month. This is then perhaps the best way to neutralize the price hike.
Volkswagen Vento
Variants | Old Prices | New Prices | Difference |
Trendline | Rs 8.87 lakh | Rs 8.94 lakh | Rs 7,000 |
Comfortline | Rs 10 lakh | Rs 10 lakh | NIL |

Highline Plus MT | Rs 11.99 lakh | Rs 12.08 lakh | Rs 9,000 |
Highline Plus AT | Rs 13.30 lakh | Rs 12.99 lakh | (- Rs 31,000) |
The case of the Vento is a little more interesting. The Trendline and Highline Plus variants of the manual variants of the Vento have received a price hike of Rs 7,000 and Rs 9,000 respectively. Meanwhile, the prices of the mid-spec Comfortline and Highline variants remain unchanged. The interesting part is that the price of the Highline Plus automatic variant is actually cheaper by a considerable Rs 31,000.
