Volkswagen India has officially launched the Volkswagen Polo GT 1.2 TSI in India at a price of Rs. 7.99 Lakhs ex-showroom. It will go on sale immediately and will compete with other hot hatches in India including the Fabia Scout, Punto 90 HP, Vista D90 and i20 1.4 Gamma to name a few.
The Polo 1.2 GT TSI is powered by a turbocharged petrol engine which puts out 105 BHP of peak power, 175 Nm of torque and is mated to a 7 speed high performance dual clutch DSG automatic transmission gearbox.
The hot hatch market is an elite market in India and does not generate too high volumes, but having products in a niche market with fewer competition does make a lot of sense for car makers especially in the times when the sales of conventional small cars are not very encouraging.

Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI Pictures Leaked Before 25th April Launch
Volkswagen is readying up the Polo TSI for a launch is a news which is not a surprise for those who have been regular with the updates about the cars. But what every news that has come out till now has missed out on till now is that the car will come with a class leading 7 speed DSG gearbox. Polo TSI has been caught doing the rounds on the Indian roads for quite a while and reports have suggested that the car will be launched as early as the last week of April.
Polo TSI will be powered by a 1.2 litre engine which will be offered in a state of high tune. It will pump out 105BHP and the peak torque figure will stand at 175NM. The Polo TSI will be available as the top end model of the Polo lineup and will slot where the Polo 1.6 was until it was discontinued due to dismal sales figures. The Polo TSI will be badged as Polo GT and the only thing that performance lovers will miss out on in the car will be the paddle shifters which offer a lot of fun of driving.
The car will come with the body kit of the Polo SR edition that was recently launched by VW as a top of the line variant. Performance hungry folks would love to see the car getting disc brakes for all the wheels like the Linea T Jet which is a performance sedan but VW might not oblige them to that extent. The car is expected to be a hoot to drive and will be the first true blue Hot Hatch of the country because of the engine and the class leading automatic gearbox on offer coupled with an aerodynamic kit.
The car will come with GT and TSI badging all over it so as to separate it from the rest and make it look visually different. And now let us talk about the main thing you’d be wondering. The price of the car. VW has a habit of pricing the cars a tad steeper and then evening it out by offering discounts at a later stage if the car doe not sell well. But speed racers would not like to wait that long so be ready to shell out something around Rs.7-7.5 lakhs if you’d like to be the speed racer in the town.

Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI Launch In April
The wait is going to over soon as it seems that Volkswagen will be soon raising the curtains over the much awaited car of the year Polo 1.2 TSI. Recently our blogger friends at Overdrive captured the test mules of the Volkswagen Polo 1.2 TSI
The reason is very simple for any car and that is only the engine composition which gets responsible for making it hot. The Polo GT which is a changed named of Polo 1.2 TSI is making consumer wait a lot. The car will be going to replace the Polo 1.6 petrol model. The car is also known as the ‘performance hatchback ranger’, as it is designed for that extra performance as people require and expect from the hatchbacks with heated engines. Similarly known car is the new Tata Vista D-90 for the heated performance, which also offers the heated engine capacity for sporting giants. We predict and pray that Volkswagen should not play with the direct injection turbocharged engine comprising 1.2 liter of capacity.
The engine produces a maximum peak power of 105 Ps and the maximum torque 175 Nm. The transmission option for the Indian dedicated version of the Polo GT is the DSG automatic but then it is not specified that weather the car will get a six speed or even seven speed gear box. If we see about the fact of looks then everybody knows that the car has great looks , since its launch people were on fire by the exterior and thus the exterior is a bit similar to the recent one the Polo SR edition. Company has also claimed that Polo SR will comprise the heated engine capacity for the sports enthusiasts. The door sills of GT have putting the emblem high and have GT TSI badges. Inside story is different as this time consumers will get a dual tone treatment with fine materials used for interior designing. The pedal plays an important role and thus it is made up of the brushed metal.
Volkswagen hides the big launch date as by the prediction we can say that the car can be launched in the coming three to four months. After the launch one thing is sure that the car will be definitely going to target the sporting maniacs and small families.
