Volkswagen India has launched its official pre-owned car business in India called the Das WeltAuto which will help develop a reliable market for the Volkswagen used cars in India. It will help Indian car buyers to own high quality German Engineered VW cars at much lower price than that of a new car with complete peace of mind and reliability of VW brand. VW India will even sell non-VW cars thought its Das WeltAuto outlets. There will be about 3 such outlets set up in the first half of 2012 to gauge the market response to this business in India.
Neeraj Garg Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen India quoted:
“With a healthy customer base and a strong network established in the market over the last couple of years it has encouraged us to bring in our global pre-owned car business into the country. We are confident that Das WeltAuto. will chart out its own success story in this market very soon. About 30% of all the inquiries that we get at our showrooms are for exchange. While we may not be able to convert all of them into purchases, we are definitely looking to tap them as well”
