Volkswagen India, the Indian subsidiary of the popular German auto-maker, hasn’t really been able to make it to the top of sales charts. Make no mistake, for the company has some really well-sorted models on sale here. However, somehow, these cars have pretty much failed to strike a chord with the majority of Indian new car buyers. However, VW India has now come up with a plan to give its sales performance a much-needed shot in the arm. A part of this plan is the range of new launches that bring special editions of existing cars. One such product is the Volkswagen Ameo Anniversary limited edition, which has been launched at a starting price of Rs 5.79 Lakh. This new car launches ahead of the fast-approaching Diwali season with the intention of finding many takers during the period of increased car sales. Akin to the Vento ALLSTAR, the new Volkswagen Ameo limited edition gets additional features, but no mechanical or design updates.

Volkswagen Ameo Boot Space- The Ameo is a compact sedan, hence, we never expected it to offer a huge boot space. The Vento has a boot space of 454 Litres. In comparison, the Ameo has a boot space of 330 litres. This makes the Ameo’s boot space some 15 litres higher than that of the Maruti Dzire.
Volkswagen Ameo Limited Edition Exterior
Much like most cars in this segment, the Volkswagen Vento compact sedan looks like a truncated version of the full sized sedan. However, we feel the car looks a lot better proportioned than most of its rivals. It shares its front end with the Polo hatchback and the rear end follows the same design language we’ve seen on other VW products. Even the side profile is similar, but the difference arises owing to the inclusion of a small boot. Overall, it is one of the better-looking cars in its segment.
The limited edition Ameo gets 15-inch Tosa wheels, which make it look really attractive. Also, the special body decals on the bonnet, lower door panels and boot lid further enhance its appeal. Finally, the black ORVMs and the black boot-lid spoiler make the car look really very sporty.
Volkswagen Ameo Limited Edition Interior
On the inside, the Ameo gets almost the same cabin as the Polo. This means there’s adequate space for four adults. While seating five might be a bit of a squeeze, the comfort levels are at par with the rivals. The interior comes draped in high quality materials. The panels, the switches, everything has a premium appeal to it. In terms of features, the Ameo is easily the best in its class. The honeycomb design seat covers of the Anniversary edition further make the interior more attractive.
