Volkswagen is globally creating a buzz with its new production small car Volkswagen Up and the launch date of the 2012 new model is somewhere in August. Paris Grand Palais on the Champs-Elysees in France has been chosen as the official launch venue for the car. The concept was displayed back in the year 2007 and after almost 4 years of further research, the actual production model will finally enter the Global automobile industry.
So France will most probably get this car but what about India? Sources have hinted that the manufacturer is right on track to launch the same in the Indian automobile industry as well.
Volkswagen Vento and Volkswagen Polo have catapulted the company amongst the top ones in India and this car will definitely help the manufacturer go further at a better pace. The car will be placed below the Polo and will go against current leaders like the Hyundai i10, Maruti Wagon R, Maruti A-Star, Hyundai Santro, Ford Figo and the rest from the hatchback segment.

As per speculations the car will be priced around $ 14,000 which is equivalent to Rs. 6.3 Lakh but since it will sit below the Polo, a lot of features will not be made available so as it make it fit into the price bracket. The price of Volkswagen Up based small car in India will be between Rs. 3 Lakhs and Rs. 4 Lakhs.
