Trying to create a spoof of the recent Pune crash, a vlogger keeps a 300-word essay ready as he drives his Mercedes at 103 km/h. The nation is evidently shaken by the recent tragic action of a 17-year-old rich spoiled brat who killed two people with his overspeeding Porsche Taycan in Pune. What was the most shocking aspect of this case was that he was released on bail just 15 hours after the accident and was given the punishment of writing a 300-word essay, working with traffic Police for 15 days and going for treatment for his drinking habit. That is exactly what this vlogger is making fun of.
Vlogger Writes 300-Word Essay and Drives Mercedes at High Speed
This post emerges from gajodharsinghcool on Instagram. It captures the driver of this Mercedes shouting at the top of his voice inside the car. He is spoofing the details of the recent case. As a result, he says that he has already written a 300-word essay and now he can drive as he pleases. He is insinuating that since the punishment for killing two people was just this, people, especially the minors, can get away with just about anything. That is what has caused outrage in many parts of the country.
In fact, after writing this essay, the vlogger is driving his Mercedes at around the 100 km/h mark on the highway. I hope he is just joking about the entire situation but the way he is driving is slightly careless. He is holding the camera in one hand and showing the notebook to the viewers with the other hand. All this while, if the vehicle needed a steering manoeuvre due to any exigency, he wouldn’t have been able to respond quickly enough. That could bear terrible consequences.
Our View
I was deeply distressed by the recent Pune accident, just like a lot of others. To see the condition of our road regulations and the kind of judicial system in place, it breaks my heart to imagine what the families of the victims must be going through. I can only hope that the laws are modified to deal with certain special cases where the nature of crime is so gruesome. We must update and modernize our rule books to incorporate new scenarios which are prevalent in today’s world.
