Maruti Jimny is the latest entrant into the lifestyle off-roading segment of the country which pits it directly against the leader in this segment, Mahindra Thar.
In this video, a vlogger is seen mocking Maruti Jimny after witnessing the performance of Mahindra Thar in an unfortunate crash. Jimny is the latest product from the largest carmaker in the country that caters to hardcore off-roaders. Jimny is an established product in the international market in the 3-door guise. However, India being a value-conscious market, Maruti brought the more practical 5-door version. The prices will be out on June 7. On the other hand, Mahindra Thar is the segment leader in our country for years. Note that the 5-door version of the Thar will launch here in the coming months.

Vlogger Mocks Maruti Jimny For No Apparent Reason
This video has been uploaded by Prateek Singh on YouTube. The self-proclaimed car expert is regular with judging the crash worthiness of cars simply by looking at the videos and pictures of the crashed vehicles. This time around, though, he has gone a step ahead and criticized a vehicle without even requiring any visual of a damaged specimen. It’s actually based on a case that emerged from the Una-Bhavnagar highway in Gujarat. As per the information in the video, a tractor was approaching from the wrong side of the lane on the highway. Meanwhile, the driver of a Mahindra Thar was unable to react quickly enough and ended up colliding with it head-on. The result of the collision was pretty horrific but it’s noteworthy that no Maruti Jimny was involved in this mishap.

It looks like the speed of both the vehicles involved in the accident was high. The entire front fascia of the Mahindra Thar has sustained severe damage. This includes components like the bumper, bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps, fenders and even the wheels. On the other hand, the front and rear sections of the tractor have been separated due to the collision. As far as the injuries go, the driver of the Thar escaped unhurt, which goes on to show the good crash protection the SUV provides. However, that’s not all that the vlogger has conveyed in his video.

The title of this video is mocking Maruti Jimny, even though there is no scientific basis for that. Let alone any evidence, the vehicle had absolutely nothing to do with the accident between the two vehicles. It has not yet been crash tested for anyone to compare it to Thar. Moreover, there are so many factors involved in an accident. The NCAP testing takes place in moderate and controlled settings. Therefore, it doesn’t make sense to compare the two randomly. We must also ensure that everyone around us follows traffic regulations. Most road accidents take place due to people not following traffic protocols. We must report them to the authorities so that our roads become safer than they are.
