The upcoming VinFast VF e34 was recently spotted on the back of a flatbed truck. For the uninitiated, VinFast is a Vietnamese carmaker which is going to be the newest foreign car marque in India. Prior to this, it commenced selling cars in the U.S. It recognizes the rapid growth of EVs in India which is why it wants to capitalize on this promising opportunity. It was in the race to acquire Ford’s Chennai plant but the deal fell through. As a result, it ended up setting up its own production facility in Tamil Nadu. This plant will have a capacity of manufacturing 50,000 EVs annually initially, which will expand to 150,000 EVs later on.
VinFast VF e34 Seen
The details of this case emerge from autojournal_india on Instagram. This post captures a VF e34 without any camouflage on the back of a flatbed truck plying on the roads. The registration of the truck is in Maharashtra. Hence, this could well be somewhere in that state. The white-coloured EV bears a striking appearance. The tail section of the EV is visible. It has an LED connected taillamp layout which is quite common among modern cars. Also, one can see the shark fin antenna along with the roof-mounted spoiler. It even gets tiny roof rails which don’t look functional. Apart from that, the side body cladding, prominent wheel arches and alloy wheels accentuate the SUV traits of the vehicle.
This post even mentions that we could see the VF e34 and VF 5 launching in our market first. While the VF e34 is a 4.3 m long SUV which would rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona, the VF 5 is a sub-4m SUV which would be the direct rival to the Tata Nexon EV. Therefore, the Vietnamese auto giant wants to leverage the popularity of these segments to make a grand entry. It will be interesting to see how well the customers receive these two electric vehicles.
