In this video, you can witness Vijay Mallya’s Maybach 62 which is now available for sale in the used car market. Mallya was one of the biggest businessmen in the country up until a few years ago. He is the former Chairman of United Spirits, which is the largest spirits company in India. In fact, he is still the Chairman of United Breweries Group. This group owns beverage alcohol, aviation infrastructure, real estate and fertilizer. Needless to mention, he is also the founder and former owner of the now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines in addition to being the owner of the Force India Formula One team. Now, he is a fugitive from India after a financial scandal.

Vijay Mallya’s Maybach 62
This post comes from real_atul_yadav on Instagram. The host gives the viewers a walkaround tour of the iconic Maybach 62. It is one of the two models in the country. The other one is owned by the Ambanis. This car was spotted at the Big Boy Toyz showroom. The 62 was among the only models on sale by the Maybach. It remained in production between 2002 to 2012. Thereafter, Mercedes acquired Maybach and now we see Maybach models of the regular Mercedes-Benz cars, as a result. There were only 3,321 units of the Maybach 57/62 ever produced. It was designed as a proper chauffeur-driven vehicle.

While the exterior dimensions are enormous, it is the inside which is of particular interest. It boasts of a cabin which has been compartmentalized into two sections – the cabin for rear occupants with a lounge setup which is separate from the driver. Just like we see in limousines, there is a blind between the driver and the rear passengers. They can talk to the driver using a walkie-talkie. In terms of the configuration, the Maybach 62 offered so many features which were ahead of its time. There is lounge-type seating with a massage function, reclining features, wooden inlays at various places, a television, electronic operations for all functions, a glass roof and more.

Specs
Not only was the Maybach 62 opulent from the inside, but its engine was quite powerful too. In its most aggressive settings, there is a 6.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine under its long hood which generates a mammoth 640 PS and 900 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a sporty 5-speed automatic transmission. This propelled the large exotic ride from 0 to 97 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. In India, the price of the Maybach 62 was over Rs 5.10 Crore, ex-showroom. There were tons of additional equipment one could opt for. This is a testament to just how particular Vijay Mallya was about his possessions.
