Vespa is all set make a big move by introducing the Vespa LX 125 at the 2012 Auto Expo and the excitement is inexpressible. With a major portion going to motorcycles and only a small remaining with the scooter lovers, LML Select Four Stroke, it would be interesting to see how Indian two-wheeler enthusiasts receive the LX125.
First it was the Bajaj who started the era of scooters and then LML emerged as the next most powerful brand with its Select, but with the advancement in motorcycles and changing tastes of customers the charm of conventional scooters has almost vanished.

Piaggio, parent company of Vespa, is hoping that it will recreate the magic that was there a few decades back with the automatic Vespa LX125 and will showcase it at the 2012 Auto Expo. The launch of the scooter is scheduled for March 2012 and expectedly a considerable stir will be experienced by the market.
The most important aspect of Vespa Scooters is that besides utility, their main concern is the styling of the product. The perfect blend of classic styling with modern design cues is what we see in all the Vespas and it could prove to be a strong point for the manufacturer in the country.
On the technical front the scooter will come equipped with a 125 CC engine that will produce 10 BHP of max power and 9.6 Nm of torque. Together with its performance figures and styling, we believe it would give a tough competition to Honda Activa and Suzuki Access. The price of the Vespa is expected to be higher than the Activa and Access, probably close to Rs. 60,000 because of the premium product positioning of Vespa in India.
