Vespa, a brand associated with Piaggio has managed to maintain a cult status in India. The retro design, efficient engine but ridiculously expensive price tag has made the Vespa range of scooters accessible to only a few, but appealing to many. The exclusiveness also ensures that it remains an aspirational product for which people are willing to spend a lot more than normal. Currently, Vespa has three variants in Indian market, namely LX, VX and S and now in order to rejig the customer interest in their products, the company has launched a limited edition version of their VX variant, known as the ‘Vespa Esclusivo’. A prospective customer at the showroom will have the option of requesting their Esclusivo, marked out with a number of their liking between 1 to 1,000 and thus will be produced in a limited number of 1000 only.
Price
Vespa Esclusivo : Rs. 81,786, ex-showroom
The Esclusivo is distinguished from standard variants with some chequered racy decals on the front apron and rear side body panels bordered by red striping, contrast stitching on the seat and black alloy wheels. The edition is based on the VX variant and retains the engine from the standard version which comprises the 125 cc, 3-valve single-cylinder four-stroke engine generating 10 BHP and 10.06 Nm of torque and comes with the CVT transmission. The scooter’s fuel tank capacity is 8 litres which offers it a range of over 400km. The urban-oriented scooter, with an extra whiff of exclusivity, comes with a front disc brake.
The gearless scooter will be offered in three colors: red, white and matte black.
