The Vespa Elegante will be based on the Vespa VX, but will get styling elements from the Vespa Primavera sold in other markets. It will be a cosmetic job and no mechanicals of the automatic scooter will be touched. The company will sell limited number of units of the scooter just like the Vespa Esclusivo launched earlier this year.
Expected Price
The Piaggio Vespa Elegante could be priced around Rs. 79,000, ex-showroom
As we mentioned earlier the Elegante will be based on the Vespa VX but will be more stylish and premium than the same. Expected styling changes include a slightly redesigned headlamp, air-intake on the front fairing, new colours, split seats, new decals etc. It may get alloy wheels of a different design too. Braking will handled by the standard disc brake at front and drum brake at the rear.
The Vespa Elegante will still be powered by the 125-cc, 4-stroke engines that powers all variants of the Vespa in India. The engine prodcues 9.85 BHP or peak power and 10.06 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a CVT gearbox.
