Valet parking drivers are sometimes not careful while handling the vehicles of the customers
In a rather shocking turn of events, a valet parking driver misused a Mercedes SUV, causing damage worth Rs 20 lakh. In India, many hotels and restaurants offer valet service. In this manner, customers can simply disembark the car at the entrance, and the valet driver can park the car at the designated place. The aim is to offer convenience to the customers. However, things can go wrong sometimes, as seen in this latest instance. Let us glance at the details of this case here.
Valet Parking Driver Crashes Mercedes SUV
We are able to acquaint ourselves with the specifics of this case courtesy of Prateek Singh on YouTube. This channel uploads content around the performance of vehicles during undesirable circumstances. On this occasion, this case stems from Marathahalli near Bangalore city. As per the information in the video, a Mercedes EQE was involved in a crash due to the carelessness of the valet. Reportedly, a family arrived at a restaurant for lunch in their luxury electric SUV. They handed over the car to the valet driver for parking. However, after some time, the restaurant staff informed them about a mishap.
They said that the vehicle had incurred a minor scratch while the valet was parking it. Shockingly, after witnessing the SUV, the family was astonished to see the SUV covered in bricks after it passed through a wall. Perhaps the driver was unable to control the acceleration of the EV and slammed into a wall. The entire front fascia has sustained deformation, including the bonnet and bumper. Unfortunately, the restaurant owner didn’t admit that it was their fault and didn’t cooperate. As a consequence, the Mercedes owner is facing troubles with the insurance. Interestingly, the restaurant owner offered Rs 2 lakh in compensation for the damage of Rs 20 lakh. I shall update this post once more details emerge.
My View
This is a perfect case to showcase how inexperienced and careless valet drivers can cause huge damage to cars. Also, this incident brings to light how the property owners often back out in such cases where accidents occur. I must say that it is the responsibility of the service providers to ensure that their drivers don’t drive the valet cars recklessly. Also, there should be CCTV footage for the entire area, and if found guilty, the valet drivers should be held accountable. Let us keep an eye out for more such cases in the times to come.
