The used car market can be quite tricky and hilarious to understand. This is one such example where the new car costs less than what the used car owner is asking for.
A used Mahindra XUV700 is on sale in the market. We know how long the waiting times for some of the models of the SUV are. Hence, the used car market could be a great way to own an XUV700 quickly. XUV700 has witnessed an unprecedented response where the customers are getting expected delivery dates of over 15 months. For the people who want the SUV soon, looking to the used car market or opting for a competitor seem to be the only two choices. But what if you get a used XUV700 that is priced higher than the new model?

Used Mahindra XUV700 on Sale
The brand new AX5 automatic petrol variant of the Mahindra XUV700 costs Rs 17.70 lakh, ex-showroom and Rs 20.40 lakh, on-road in Gurgaon. But according to an advertisement posted on Facebook by an XUV700 owner, the demand for the same variant is a whopping Rs 22.85 lakh. The SUV has been driven 2,000 km in town. This marks a premium of Rs 2.45 lakh which is quite high. The owner mentions that the vehicle is only one month old, it has a VIP number (0006) with additional fitments like footsteps, reverse camera, PU seat covers, extended warranty and a rear bumper guard. These extras are certainly needed to be incorporated into the deal.
The question is if you are willing to shell out this amount for the AX5 variant when the same brand new car could come at Rs 20.45 lakh, on-road. Some could argue that it might be a great deal considering the extras that are being offered with the car. Not to mention, to beat the waiting time on the Mahindra XUV700 could be an added bonus and worth the premium.
