Indian auto rickshaws are quite renowned around the globe and are a particular attraction for tourists from all parts of the world.
In a pleasantly shocking chain of events, the US Secretary to the State, Antony Blinken was spotted riding an auto-rickshaw to the G20 meet recently. India is hosting the G20 Summit this time around attracting dignitaries and foreign politicians on a large scale. While there have been numerous politicians in the country already, there is a peculiar episode that was recently caught on tape. Antony Blinken decided to take the auto rickshaw to attend to reach the US Embassy. Here are the details.

US Secretary Antony Blinken Rides Auto Rickshaw
This video clip has been published by ANI News on YouTube. It is the most trusted news platform in the country. It captures the US Secretary boarding the tuk-tuk along with an Indian diplomat. What is interesting is the fact that another US Diplomat lady is driving it. We reckon she is the same person who we recently reported to have purchased autos for commuting in India. There are 4 US diplomats who were so fascinated by the practicality and convenience of an auto-rickshaw, that they purchased their own and coloured them various colours.

These US Diplomats are – Ann L Mason, Ruth Holmberg, Shareen J Kitterman, and Jennifer Bywaters. It is astonishing to see such influential politicians ditching their bulletproof vehicles for a refreshing and engaging ride in auto rickshaws. They recognized the value of rickshaws since parts of the city become accessible which would be difficult (even impossible sometimes) to reach with a car.

The video shows the US Secretary having a nice time chatting with the Indian and a fellow US Diplomat while on his way to the US Embassy. There are pink and black coloured autos travelling in a fleet and arriving at the venue in style. These personalized rickshaws have been the go-to medium of commute for these foreign delegates blending in with the traffic in Delhi. We understand the level of excitement and curiosity foreigners have about auto rickshaws, particularly since they have not experienced it ever.
