Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. is very tight lipped about the price and launch date of the new Maruti Swift 2011, but as per recent developments, Maruti has stopped the manufacturing of the old Maruti Swift model at its Manesar plant and is readying its assembly line fort the new Model of Maruti Swift. In another surprising development, the Maruti Suzuki authorized dealers have been officially informed by Maruti Suzuki to give the buyers an option to upgrade their existing bookings (for which delivery is yet pending) of old Model of Swift to the New Model of Swift. Which is a clear indication that Maruti is going to launch it in August 2011. Unofficial sources confirm a date of 8th August 2011, but its yet to be officially confirmed.
This is certainly a good move by Maruti to contact customers to give them an option to upgrade as many buyers may not be aware that the new model is about to be launched so soon. It will help them buy the improved version of Swift which delivers more power and mileage. There is no announcement of the price difference on the new and old Swift which is expected to reasonable increase of less than 10% of the existing price of the car.
The major differences between old and new Swift will be larger size of new car, refined and better performing engine, lighter weight, design and interior improvements. Added safety measures and improved cabin comfort etc.. If you are nor able to make up your mind about upgrading to the new model of Swift, these links will help you-
