Tata Motors is currently working on a very aggressive strategy for the Indian market. It aims at taking up the place of the third largest selling automobile manufacturer in India by the end of this financial year. It recently surpassed Mahindra in terms of its sales for the month of June 2018. And with several new products lined up, as many as 10-12 new models and updates, things are looking quite positive for the homegrown automaker in India. At the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, Tata Motors revealed that all its future products will derive out of just two platforms, the Alpha and the Omega. This will help the manufacturer in achieving economies of scale and keep the prices of the products competitive. Upcoming Tata Cars In India: Tiago JTP
The Tata Tiago JTP was also showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. The Tiago JTP is essentially the hot-hatch version of the standard Tiago hatchback. The car comes with a number of cosmetic updates. For instance, it comes with restyled bumpers, additional side skirts and contrasting seat fabric. In addition to the cosmetic updates, the Tiago JTP comes with an engine update, It is powered by Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. It is likely that the Tigor JTP will launch in India this year itself. It will be priced INR 50,000 premium than the standard Tiago.

Upcoming Tata Cars In India: Tigor JTP
Just like the Tiago JTP, the Tata Tigor JTP is the pumped up version of the standard Tigor. It too comes with a number of cosmetic updates. These include sporty bumpers, new colour scheme and contrasting panels inside the cabin. The Tigor JTP is also powered by Nexon’s 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The Tigor JTP is likely to launch alongside the Tiago JTP. Prices will be an additional INR 50,000 over the standard Tigor.

Upcoming Tata Cars In India: Tiago Aktiv
Tata motors will add another variant to Tiago’s line-up, in addition to the JTP. This is the Aktiv or the crossover iteration of the hatchback. The Tata Tiago Aktiv will get exterior body panels in-line with its crossover profile. Also, the cabin will get minor revisions. The engine specifications are likely to remain the same. The Tiago Aktiv will launch in India within this fiscal year. It will cost an additional INR 40,000 over the standard Tiago.
Upcoming Tata Cars In India: Tiago Electric
Tata Motors is planning to launch an electric variant of the Tiago hatchback in India. The Tata Tiago Electric comes with an electric motor that produces a power output which is equivalent to 40 BHP. It is likely that the Tiago electric will offer a range of up to 100 km on a full charge. In terms of design, the electric variant of the Tiago is identical to the standard hatchback. However, there are minor differences. Tata Motors will launch this vehicle in India soon. According to recent media reports, this vehicle will cost INR 10.16 Lakh.

Upcoming Tata Cars In India: Tigor Electric
Just like the Tiago, the Tigor will also get an electric variant. Currently, Tata Motors is producing this vehicle for Government’s fleet. About 5,000 Tata Tiago Electric will join the Government’s fleet of vehicles. The launch for the general public is likely to happen soon. It is powered by the same 40 BHP/29.8 kW electric motor which the Tiago electric comes with. It is likely to cost around the mark of INR 12.5 lakh.
Upcoming Tata Cars In India: H5X SUV
One of the biggest highlight at the 2018 Auto Expo was the Tata H5X SUV concept. The production model of this SUV will use Land Rover Discovery’s platform. With its distinctive styling, the H5X will take on competition in the premium SUV space. Unlike its chassis, the engine of the Tata H5X SUV is developed by Tata Motors themselves. Since the project is still in the concept stage, the launch of the H5X will happen around 2020. Prices will fall in the range of INR 25 Lakh to INR 30 Lakh.
Upcoming Tata Cars In India: 45X Premium Hatchback
Yet another major attraction of the Auto Expo 2018 was the 45X hatchback concept from Tata Motors. The automaker will transform this into a premium hatchback in the production avatar. So far, detail on this vehicle is very scarce. However, we believe that it could get the same engine line-up as the Nexon. It is likely to cost in-between INR 6.5 Lakh to INR 8.5 Lakh. The 45X will undercut the competition by a good margin. The launch is likely to happen during the year 2020.
Upcoming Tata Cars In India: E Vision Premium Sedan
At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Tata Motors surprised everyone with the E Vision concept. The vehicle is essentially a sedan with an electric heart. It is likely that the automaker will bring this vehicle to India. That said, the final production version will result in a c-segment sedan for our market. The premium sedan will feature gasoline engines and could also get a hybrid variant. The launch is likely to happen around the year 2022. Prices are to be around the mark of INR 7 Lakh to 12 Lakh.
Upcoming Tata Cars In India: New Safari Storme
Apart from all these new products, Tata Motors is also working on the next generation model for the Safari Storme SUV. The update will see this SUV transform into a completely different vehicle altogether. Reports suggest that the new Tata Safari Storme is developed by Tata’s design studios internationally. The SUV will also get certain design cues from Land Rover vehicles. It is likely that the launch with take place sometime the year 2018-19. Prices will remain the same as before.
