Maruti WagonR
The recently spotted facelift model of the Maruti WagonR for 2024 has gained widespread attention. The rear section is prominently featured in the viral image, with no camouflage covering the vehicle. The taillamps showcase a smoky black effect, maintaining their vertical orientation, and the reflector lights are positioned on the outermost edges of the new sporty bumper. The inclusion of black elements on the bumper enhances the hatchback’s rugged appearance. The overall silhouette closely resembles that of the current model. Unfortunately, the side and front sections are not visible in this photograph. However, significant changes are not expected in these areas. Similarly, there are no anticipated mechanical modifications to the hatchback.

Renault Kwid EV (K-ZE)
Arguably the most anticipated among the upcoming Renault cars in India is the electric version of the Kwid. It’s expected to bring significant changes to the existing Kwid micro SUV. Venkatram Mamillapalle, MD of Renault India, previously confirmed the company’s commitment to EV plans, stating, “We are going ahead with our EV plans. The EV for India is built around the CMF-A platform, and you may see it in 2024 or 2025. We are trying our best to bring it at the earliest, but the exact timeline is not yet firmed up.” Renault’s first EV for India is likely to have a localization level of 55-60 percent initially. However, the company is actively working on sourcing batteries and cells locally to reduce costs and increase the penetration of Renault’s EVs in the future.
Presently, the French automaker already offers the electric Kwid in Europe and China, featuring a 26.8 kWh battery pack. This battery pack powers an electric motor, producing a respectable 44 hp and 125 Nm of peak power and torque. With a WLTP range of 295 km on a single charge, the electric Kwid has proven successful in the international market. The transformation into an EV involves significant design changes, including the removal of the fuel tank, a flat floor, suspension tweaks, and more. Renault aims to offer it under the crucial Rs 10 lakh mark, a price bracket that has seen success with EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and Tigor EV.
