All-new Maruti Small Car

This upcoming Maruti car could be one of the most important of all upcoming cars under 10 lakhs. The new Maruti small car will likely acquire the spot between the Alto and Celerio. It will be a Renault Kwid competitor. This means it will have an SUV-like stance and high ground clearance. For this purpose, this car is expected to borrow design cues from the Suzuki Crosshiker concept.

Next-Gen Maruti Alto

The new Maruti Wagon R will have an all-new exterior and interior design. Its engine specifications will remain the same as before. Top-spec version can get features like projector headlamps, automatic climate control and touchscreen infotainment system. The hatchback will have dual-airbags and ABS as standard across the range.
All-new Hyundai Santro

The Santro is Hyundai India’s most-known product to date. With neither the i10 or Eon being able to make a dent in Alto’ sales, Hyundai is reportedly working on bringing this car back to life. The Wagon R 7-Seater will have the same exterior and interior design as the next-generation WagonR. The production of this budget MPV is speculated to start by the end of this year. Expect it to launch in India during the first quarter of 2019. It will get a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine as standard. AMT variant is on the cards as well.
All-new Maruti Suzuki Gypsy

Yes, the iconic Gypsy is about to come in all all-new avatar. While the new Gypsy will look much more modern, it will also off more features and safety. Also, it is expected to get both 2WD and 4WD models. Expect the Baleno platform to underpin this car. This means that this car will likely be quite light and perhaps fuel efficient too. The 1.0-litre BoosterJet engine may find its way under the hood of this car.
Datsun Go Cross

The Datsun Go Cross was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo in concept form. It did get a good response from the visitors. It is being reported that Datsun has not just begun work on this car but also fast-tracked it. Expect it to retain its high riding stance from the concept. Hyundai Sub-Compact SUV (Carlino)

Also, the cabin material quality will be top-notch as well.

All-new Nissan Micra

The Jazz is a decent performer from Honda. However, it is likely to get a new face. Tata Tiago Aktiv

Tata Tiago JTP

Maruti Baleno Facelift

Chinese automaker SAIC will set up shop in India with MG Cars. Of the cars likely to come to India, the MG 3 is likely to fall under the upcoming cars under 10 lakhs category. In India, it will likely face off against the likes of Ford Figo, Hyundai Elite i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Honda Jazz.
Kia Picanto

Fiat Argo

The Argo is the car that is likely to replace the Punto in Fiat India’s lineup. The car will likely come with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines. However, Fiat may choose to also get the Argo to India with the 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Hence, it will likely compete against not just the likes of Honda Jazz and Hyundai Elite i20 but also Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and Volkswagen Polo GT.
Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol

In order to further bump up the sales of the Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki is soon going to introduce petrol variant in the sub-compact SUV’s model line-up. Going by the recent media reports, we believe that this Brezza petrol will launch in India this year itself. It could either get Baleno RS’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine, or the Ciaz’s 1.4-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor. In addition to this, the SUV will also get a new AMT variant added to its line-up as well.

Kia Rio

Hyundai Grand i10-based MPV

The Grand i10 has been a decent performer for Hyundai in India. Reports suggest the carmaker is working on an MPV based off the Grand i10 hatchback. The MPV is likely to be powered by the same set of engines as on the Verna. Being based on the Grand i10 means the MPV will, in all likelihood, take design and styling cues from the hatchback.

Mahindra Scorpio Facelift

The gearbox options will likely be a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic.
All-new Renault Duster

The new Duster will (most likely) be making its global debut this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Duster is likely to be bigger than the one currently on sale in India. As a result of the extensive work required, don’t expect the car to come to India before 2018.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift

The Ciaz facelift is likely to be a subtle one. This is because the current car still looks as good as it did when it was all-new in the market. Now retailing from Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealerships in India, the Ciaz facelift will feature styling refreshes on exterior and interior fronts. The engines will remain the same but are likely to be tweaked for slightly more power and torque.
Kia Ceed

The Ceed is a large premium hatchback from Kia Motors. It is likely that Kia will bring this car to India upon its debut in the country. Toyota Rush

Mahindra TUV500

All-new Tata Safari
